H Μαρία Γαλανοπούλου είναι απόφοιτη του Τμήματος Φιλοσοφίας του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης.

She has worked as philologue in public education, at the Lyceum of Filiatra and the Gymnasium of Gargalianoi, and since 1988 she is a faculty member of the American College of Greece – Pierce.  She has participated in training seminars with both academic and pedagogical content. During the period 2000-2007 she was head of the academic department of Modern Greek. She has two daughters.
